Burna Boy, Shakira smash World Cup record as ‘Dai Dai’ crosses 800 million streams
Nigerian Grammy-winning singer, Burna Boy and Colombian superstar, Shakira have broken a FIFA World Cup music record after their official 2026 tournament anthem, “Dai Dai,” surpassed 800 million combined streams across Spotify and YouTube Music.
The achievement comes after the song amassed more than 200 million streams on Spotify and over 600 million views on YouTube Music, making it the highest-performing official World Cup song throughout the competition.
According to figures shared after the tournament, the record also makes “Dai Dai” the most-viewed FIFA World Cup music video since Shakira’s “La La La, Brazil 2014.”
The collaboration, released ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, gained popularity throughout the tournament as fans across different countries adopted the song during celebrations and match-day activities.
The achievement cements “Dai Dai” as the defining soundtrack of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, making it the tournament’s biggest musical success and Burna Boy’s latest global record alongside Shakira.
