Bomb Threat Diverts Dublin-Rome Flight To French Military Base
An Aer Lingus flight travelling from Dublin, Ireland, to Rome, Italy, has been diverted to a French navy air base following a bomb risk.
The Airbus A320 was redirected to Évreux air base in Normandy, western France, on Thursday after the risk was reported, in line with the workplace of French Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu.
The plane landed safely, with all 151 passengers and 6 crew members evacuated from the aircraft.
The French Prime Minister’s workplace stated bomb-disposal groups have been deployed to look at the plane, whereas authorities continued to watch the scenario.
Flight-tracking knowledge confirmed that the plane modified course because it approached Paris, circled the Évreux space and declared an in-flight emergency earlier than heading to the navy base.
No accidents have been reported, and authorities had not disclosed the supply of the risk as of Thursday.
The incident comes amid a collection of bomb threats focusing on passenger flights throughout Europe in current days, prompting diversions, emergency landings and safety searches.
Several airways, together with Ryanair, Wizz Air, Scandinavian Airlines and LOT Polish Airlines, have reported threats affecting their flights.
Authorities have up to now reported no explosives discovered throughout searches of a number of plane focused within the current incidents.
The origin of the threats and whether or not the incidents are related stay unclear.
