A support group of the All Progressive Party (APC) under the auspices of Tara Nation Support for APC 2027, in collaboration with Kaduna State Students’ Union Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, has empowered some students of the University through various skill acquisition training programmes.

The director-general of the group, Amb. Adesuwa Ogechi Udo, who declared the event open, said they were in the University to empower students to enable them to become self-employed, even after graduation.

Speaking with our correspondent on Friday in Zaria, Udo said the programme themed “Build the Youth build the Nation” was primarily designed to engage the youth in meaningful economic activities in commemoration of Nigeria’s 66th independence.

She charged the beneficiaries to be focused, respectful and make sure that their votes count in 2027 elections.

She noted that the President Bola Ahmed Tunubu’s administration has good initiatives for the youth.

Meanwhile, in an interview with journalists shortly after the event on Thursday in Zaria, the president of the students’s union, Comrade Yahaya Baba Abubakar, thanked the group for empowering the beneficiaries.

He, therefore, called on his fellow students to actively participate in politics as it would give them the opportunity to contribute in bringing positive changes to the nation.
