2027: My Administration ‘ll translate ADC policies into real impact in Yobe – Gaidam

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate in Yobe state, Kasim Gaidam, has said the party will prioritise youth participation, voter education and awareness in its campaign ahead of the 2027 elections.

Gaidam spoke during the inauguration of the party’s 57-member Unified Campaign Council and the commissioning of its new state secretariat in Damaturu.

Gaidam said the party’s priority would be the youth, voter enlightenment and awareness, urging young people to actively participate in the electoral process including serving as polling agents and defending their votes.

He said ADC agents would monitor the process from polling units through all stages of result collation.

The ADC candidate said the party was making progress and would be ready for the 2027 poll, contesting at different levels and seeking victory in the positions for which it fields candidates.

Gaidam noted that his administration would focus on economic challenges, education and leadership, and would work out implementation modalities to translate ADC presidential policies into programmes with direct impact on the people.

He also pledged to tackle corruption and promote leadership by example, saying, “We will be on ground at the nooks and crannies of the state.”

The state leader of the ADC, Alhaji Adamu Maina Waziri, said the 57-member Unified Campaign Council would design and coordinate campaigns for the presidential, governorship, senatorial, House of Representatives and House of Assembly elections in Yobe State, with room for expansion.

He said the council would engage ordinary Yobeans in their communities to mobilise support.

Waziri said the ADC was seeking political change in 2027, citing poverty, insecurity, hunger and the rising cost of living.

He criticised the APC-led Federal Government, saying increased government revenue had not reduced the cost of living, and alleged that corruption had contributed to the country’s economic difficulties.

He called on Nigerians to use the 2027 elections to elect new leaders, adding that the ADC was prepared to contest at all levels in Yobe state.
