2027: Kaduna APC aspirants collapse ambitions, mobilise for Tinubu, Uba Sani

A group of All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirants in Kaduna state who stepped down from the race under the party’s consensus arrangement have pledged to support the party’s candidates in the 2027 elections.

The aspirants, under the APC Consensus Aspirants Forum, said they would now deploy the political structures and supporters they had mobilised during their individual campaigns to work for the victory of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Uba Sani and other APC candidates.

Chairman of the forum, Godwin Luka (Mai Solar), stated this Monday at a press conference at the Governor Uba Sani Campaign Office in Kaduna, where he said the decision was based on their “commitment to the party and their belief in the performance of the APC governments at the federal and state levels.”

He said, “Members of the forum had accepted the consensus process initiated by Governor Uba Sani and stepped aside to allow other party members to emerge as the APC’s flag bearers, stating that their decision should now translate into greater responsibility towards the party.”

Luka said the aspirants would mobilise at polling-unit, ward, local government and community levels, while also engaging residents, listening to their concerns and communicating the achievements of the APC administrations.

He cited ongoing federal projects, including the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano road and the Sokoto-Badagry corridor, as well as interventions in education, as part of the reasons the forum resolved to support President Tinubu’s re-election bid.

On the state level, he highlighted Governor Sani’s reported interventions in roads, healthcare, education and agriculture, including road projects across the 23 local government areas, renovation and upgrade of primary healthcare facilities, construction of classrooms and support for farmers.
