The chairman of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Zamfara state chapter, Alhaji Surajo Garba Maikatako, has called on members of the party, supporters and the entire people of Zamfara state to remain steadfast and united behind Senator Kabir Garba Marafa ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

Alhaji Maikatako stated this while fielding questions from journalists in Gusau on Monday.

He described the call as timely and crucial, adding that the collective focus and singular priority of the party is to win the forthcoming election.

He urged party faithful to double their efforts at the grassroots, particularly at ward and local government levels, to ensure that Senator Marafa emerges as the next governor of Zamfara state.

The NDC chairman added that Senator Marafa is the next governor of the state, noting that it is his turn to lead Zamfara to a new era of progress, peace and prosperity.

He stated that the 2027 election represents a historic moment and a divine mandate that must be pursued with seriousness, sacrifice and total commitment by all well-meaning citizens.

Alhaji Maikatako advised members and supporters to be law-abiding and conduct themselves with maturity and dignity.

He stated that the party’s only fight is against what he described as the failed government of Zamfara state that has brought untold hardship upon the people.

He cautioned that any act of violence or indiscipline would only serve the interest of opponents and distract the party from its noble mission of rescuing the state.

He called for unity of purpose, discipline and renewed commitment as members work hand- in- hand to ensure that a new dawn breaks over the state.
