2027 elections: Gombe governorship candidate receives ex-APC chieftain Masad into ADC

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate in Gombe State, Dr Bala Bello Tinka, has received a former All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in the state, Hon. Adamu Abdullahi Masad, who defected to ADC.

The 2027 ADC governorship candidate, Tinka, welcomed the defector into his party’s fold on Thursday.

He described Hon. Masad of Birin Bolawa Ward, Nafada Local Government Area, as a distinguished grassroots politician with years of experience in party administration.

The governorship candidate expressed delight on the development and described Masad’s entry into ADC as a signal of growing confidence in the party ahead of the 2027 elections.

Tinka assured the new member of equal opportunities, inclusivity and full participation within the ADC in Gombe State.

Masad previously served the APC in several capacities including First Financial Secretary of APC Gombe State, Assistant Organising Secretary, Liaison Officer for Gombe North, and Party Chairman of Nafada LGA.

He is currently serving as Senior Special Assistant, SSA II.

According to his resignation letter dated September 7, 2026, addressed to the APC Ward Chairman of Bolawa Ward, Hon. Masad said his decision to leave the APC followed wide consultations and personal conviction for a better future.

He, however, appreciated the APC leadership at ward, local government and state levels for the support he enjoyed during his years of service.
