2027: Atiku, political ally unveil support group, assure victory

Former Vice President, and African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has called for increased mobilisation of women as his political group, Atiku Pulse is unveiled.
He made the call at the weekend in Abuja during the unveiling of Atiku Pulse alongside his political ally and promoter of the group, Kashim Ibrahim-Imam.
The group is a grassroots political mobilisation organisation and support network dedicated to advancing the political vision and campaigns of the former vice president, with membership spread across Nigeria.
According to Atiku, Nigeria urgently needed a new direction in job creation and security, adding that addressing unemployment would require massive recruitment into the police, Army, Air Force, Navy and other security agencies.
According to him, the government has failed to adequately address the country’s challenges because its leaders are more concerned about themselves than the welfare of Nigerians.
Speaking on the support group, Ibrahim-Imam blamed the country’s problems on failure of leadership.
“We have bandits as leaders. This is the problem. Things are not working in our country. If things are working in our country, I wouldn’t be standing before you.
“If things are working in our country, Atiku Abubakar would not be contesting the presidency. He is still sacrificing himself because things have not worked,” he said.
Also speaking, convener and chief strategist of Atiku Pulse, Engr Nuhu Ajana listed economic revival, security restructuring, education and human capital development, national unity, and strengthening of democratic and anti-corruption institutions as key areas the Atiku government would address, if elected.
He said the economic agenda would focus on massive job creation, support for small and medium-sized enterprises and strategic investment in agriculture, manufacturing and the digital economy.
