X users raise over ₦14 million for fresh graduate who overcame hardship to earn his degree

X users have raised over ₦14 million for a fresh graduate, Felix Madumere Nwachikerendu, after his story of perseverance and struggle through university went viral online.

A user identified as Mercy shared details of Felix’s journey, revealing that he reportedly fetched water, washed other students’ clothes, hawked peanuts and sometimes slept in classrooms while struggling to survive and complete his education.

According to her, Felix was initially unable to pay his school fees and was eventually withdrawn from school after failing to meet the required CGPA.

However, he refused to give up. He reportedly wrote JAMB again, gained another admission and eventually completed his degree.

After Felix shared that he had successfully defended his final-year project, X users began raising money to support him.

Popular X user Sir Dickson later announced that Nigerians had raised ₦14 million for Felix.

“What began as a mockery turned out to be a miracle,” he wrote while thanking everyone who contributed to the fundraising effort.

He added that Felix would also receive guidance on financial investment to help him properly manage and secure his finances.
