Woman who accused Jay-Z of r^ping her at 13 says allegation was false

 A woman who accused US rapper Jay-Z of r^ping her when she
was 13 has formally withdrawn her allegation, saying there is “no truth” to her
claims.

 

The woman, identified as Jane Doe in court documents, filed
a lawsuit in 2024 alleging that Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, and
Sean “Diddy” Combs drugged and r^ped her at a party following the MTV Video
Music Awards in 2000. Both men denied the allegations.

In a 12-page declaration filed in a Manhattan federal court
on Thursday, Doe said she had never met or spoken to Carter and that he never
engaged in inappropriate conduct towards her.

“Shawn ‘Jay-Z’ Carter never r*ped me. I have never met or
spoken to Mr. Carter. Mr. Carter never engaged in any inappropriate conduct
toward me whatsoever,” she wrote.

“My claims that Mr Carter and Mr Combs r^ped me while a
third celebrity, [name redacted] watched are false. There is no truth to any of
my claims against Mr Carter.”

Doe also acknowledged the impact of her allegations on
Carter.

“I understand my false accusations have caused Mr Carter
immense pain, suffering, and damage that can never be fully undone,” she said.

She added that she had not received or been promised any
money from Carter or anyone acting on his behalf in exchange for the
declaration.

The woman originally filed the lawsuit against Combs in
October 2024 before Carter was named in an amended complaint in December of the
same year. She voluntarily withdrew the case in February 2025.

Carter subsequently sued Doe and her former lawyers,
including attorney Tony Buzbee, alleging malicious prosecution, defamation and
other claims.

The rapper had described the original allegations as
“frivolous, fictitious and appalling” and accused his accusers of attempting to
blackmail him.

In her latest declaration, Doe has now been removed from
Carter’s lawsuit, while the rapper’s case against her former lawyers continues.

Buzbee has denied wrongdoing and maintained that his firm
believed Doe’s allegations when it pursued the case. A California appeals court
earlier this month declined Carter’s attempt to revive separate claims against
Buzbee.

Carter, who is married to singer Beyoncé, previously spoke
about the impact of the allegations on his family after Doe withdrew the
lawsuit.

“The trauma that my wife, my children, loved ones and I have
endured can never be dismissed,” he said in February 2025.
