Woman found de@d with severed hand inside church in Osun
An unidentified woman has been found de@d on the premises of a church in the Obelewo area of Osogbo, Osun State, with her left wrist reportedly severed.
According to a statement issued on Sunday by the Nigeria Police Force Public Relations Officer, Ani Iniedu, detectives visited the scene after the body was discovered.
Preliminary investigations indicated that the woman had allegedly been slaughtered, while her left wrist was severed and taken away by unidentified persons.
Iniedu said the circumstances surrounding the woman’s de@th, as well as the motive for the k!lling, had yet to be established. He added that efforts were ongoing to identify the deceased and determine what led to her de@th.
He said, “The investigations revealed that the deceased was slaughtered and her left wrist severed and taken away by unknown persons.”
The FPRO added that efforts were ongoing to establish the identity of the deceased and uncover the circumstances surrounding her de@th.
He disclosed that the corpse was subsequently taken to the hospital for further examination.
“The corpse was deposited at the hospital mortuary for autopsy,” he revealed.
He noted that the State Command Investigation Department had begun an investigation into the incident.
