Apocalyptic video footage is beginning to emerge from the scene of the migrant invasion of the small Spanish city of Ceuta on the coast of North Africa.

Estimates from regional leaders suggest that some 60,000 migrants from Morocco crossed the border via land and sea into the Spanish territory in North Africa within the last 24 hours. At least 57 of them have died thus far, according to news agencies. Rachid Sbihi, head of the Spanish Civil Guard in Ceuta, has described the scene as anarchic.

He said, “The situation is absolute chaos. It’s not possible to give precise numbers, but there are thousands of migrants crossing,” adding that the border has “totally collapsed.”

One video shared on X shows footage from the ground as the situation continues to unfold. The footage appears to show riled-up locals yelling at migrants from the rooftop while crossing the border from the sea.

“EXTREMELY SERIOUS: footage of the violent situation unfolding in Ceuta; @RescueYou247TW is recording live. And what about those Army units? Are they there just to watch the city being destroyed?”, the X post, originally in Spanish, reads.
