Popular Yoruba singer Sola Allyson has explained her unique approach to songwriting and why she does not usually mention the name of Jesus in her songs.

Speaking in an interview with Oyinmomo TV, she said her focus is on conveying meaningful messages rather than performing religious publicity.

She emphasized that her belief system centers on following the teachings of Jesus and living according to his commandments, rather than relying solely on invoking his name in her music.

According to Sola Allyson, many people misunderstand her style and label her a gospel singer, but she identifies simply as a singer who communicates messages that inspire reflection and personal growth.

She clarified that her music is not meant to serve as promotion for any religious figure but is instead an expression of her faith in God and the values she holds dear. The singer noted that true belief, in her view, comes from embodying the teachings of God in everyday life rather than performing rituals or verbal affirmations alone.

Her words: “Jesus never said we should mention his name in the songs we sing. He never asked us to do PR for him. He said we should believe in his Father in heaven and also believe in him too.”
