‘We’re disappointed’ – Adeleke receive backlash over endorsement of Tinubu’s re-election

The Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke has come under public scrutiny following his endorsement of President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

DAILY POST reports that Adeleke, who was re-elected on Saturday after winning the keenly contested governorship election, had publicly endorsed the president.

In an interview on Channels TV on Sunday, Adeleke declared that his support for President Tinubu is merely because he is a Yoruba man

The comment, however, did not go down well with some of his supporters who took to their social media handles to express their disappointment on the matter.

Some of the angry supporters on X, said they are disappointed in the governor, stating that Adeleke betrayed the Osun people who made sacrifices for the governor’s re-election.

Dr Kenon @drkenon2: “I thought this man had sense. What is this for God’s sake? Governor Ademola said he’s supporting Tinubu because he’s a Yoruba man.

“That’s very embarrassing & I am so disappointed. He just disgraced all the people that stood for him during the election”.

Lola Okunrin @lollypeezle: “Osun People stood against Tinubu and his APC team. 28 died and this is how you pay them back. Fuck you Adeleke”.

Abu Amir @SadiqMaunde: “Adeleke’s “support isn’t based on competence, good governance, or the nation’s development, but based on tribalism.

“And this is the same man you people were standing with?”

“Well, you can go ahead and support Tinubu, but the people of Osun are clearly not with you on this”.

“Osun is watching. We can’t say the same for Ekiti. The rest of Nigeria is watching. And the people who still have their senses left are not buying the performance.”
