Unknown woman steals newborn baby from Benue health facility (video)
A yet-to-be identified woman allegedly stole a newborn baby shortly after delivery at the Comprehensive Health Centre in Gboko, Benue State.
The incident happened in the early hours of Wednesday, August 12, 2026 shortly after delivery.
Activist Zege’Orkwande Sughnen Yaaya, disclosed this in a Facebook post on Wednesday, August 12, 2026.
According to him, eyewitnesses claimed that the suspect was seen following the mother when she arrived at the facility for delivery
Nurses on duty mistook the suspect for a family member who accompanied the patient.
Around 4:00am, the suspect allegedly sneaked into the ward and left with the newborn baby.
Zege said the whereabout of the woman is unknown.
He added that the matter has been reported to security agencies.
