UK Adds 19 New Designations To Russia Sanctions List

The United Kingdom has expanded its Russia sanctions list by 19 new designations, targeting 13 companies and individuals as well as six vessels, the government announced on Wednesday.

The latest additions are intended to increase pressure on Moscow’s ability to finance and sustain its military operations in Ukraine, with the designations covering companies and ships linked to Russia’s efforts to circumvent Western restrictions.

Six of the newly sanctioned targets are vessels, reflecting the United Kingdom’s continued focus on Russia’s shadow fleet, a network of ships used to transport Russian oil and evade Western sanctions.

The remaining 13 designations cover companies and individuals identified as supporting Russia’s war economy.

The United Kingdom has steadily expanded its Russia sanctions regime since Moscow’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, imposing hundreds of sanctions across the energy, finance, military procurement and shipping sectors.

The latest measures come two weeks after the European Union adopted its 21st package of sanctions against Russia on 23 July 2026.

The package targeted 48 individuals, 170 entities and 94 financial institutions, further increasing economic pressure on Moscow.

The EU also extended the Russian oil price cap at $44.10 per barrel for another 12 months, reinforcing efforts to curb Russia’s oil revenues while maintaining coordinated sanctions measures.
