Two US soldiers killed and one missing after Iranian missile attack in Jordan
U.S. Central Command on Saturday confirmed four U.S. casualties in Jordan as service members were targeted by Iranian missile and drone attacks.
Two U.S. service members were killed, and another went missing as they were attacked on Friday, according to CENTCOM.
“On July 17, two U.S. service members in Jordan were killed in action as U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) and partner forces defended against Iranian ballistic missile and drone attacks,” CENTCOM wrote. “Additionally, one service member is currently missing.”
Four more service members were additionally medically evacuated to hospitals. They have since been discharged, according to Centcom. Others suffered minor injuries and have since returned to duty.
CENTCOM is withholding soldiers’ names and other information “out of respect for the families” until 24 hours their next of kin has been notified.
