Two suspected vandals arrested in Jos
Troops of Sector 1, Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH), have arrested two suspected vandals for allegedly vandalising government-installed solar street lights in Jos East Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The suspects, identified as Isiyaku Mohammed, 22, and Ali Kazaure, 27, were arrested at about 4:20 p.m. on August 7 l, 2026 while troops of Sector 1, Sub-Sector 12, were conducting a patrol along the road in Babawo village.
According to a military source, the troops apprehended the suspects while they were allegedly vandalising solar lighting infrastructure installed by the government.
The suspects were subsequently handed over to the Keystone Outpost, Babawo, for further investigation and appropriate action.
Security agencies are expected to investigate the extent of the suspects’ involvement in the vandalism and determine whether they are linked to other similar incidents in the area.
