Trump's Bizarre Health Boast Raises New Questions
President Trump has sparked new health speculation after claiming on social media he completed a physical exam at Walter Reed, contradicting reports placing him on a golf course at that time. No medical evaluations have been documented since his last physical in late May, raising doubts about his statement’s accuracy. In a post attacking journalist Maggie Haberman, he boasted of his health and claimed to have passed a cognitive test, despite such tests being easy for those without mental issues.
US President Donald Trump has stirred fresh speculation about his health after claiming on social media that he had just wrapped up a physical exam at Walter Reed Medical Center, a statement that doesn’t line up with his actual whereabouts that day, according to a report from The Daily Beast.
White House press pool reports placed the 80-year-old president on a golf course at the time he made the Truth Social post on Saturday. There have been no records of Trump undergoing any medical evaluation since his last documented physical back in late May, which raises questions about the timing and accuracy of his claim.
In his own words, he wrote that he had just finished a “perfect physical” at Walter Reed, something he says he does every six months, and claimed he had requested a cognitive test for the third time, a distinction he says no other president has sought. He went on to say he passed with a perfect score, getting every question right.
That test, known as the Montreal Cognitive Assessment or MoCA, isn’t exactly difficult. Patients get asked to name animals from pictures, draw the correct time on a clock, and remember a handful of words they were told earlier in the session. Doctors use it mainly to flag early warning signs of dementia or mental decline. For someone without those issues, passing it isn’t much of an achievement, it’s what you’d expect.
