Trump officials privately call Iran strikes 'b—h slap' amid all-out war fears

Some Trump administration officials have allegedly nicknamed the president’s intensified military action against Iran as “Operation B—h Slap.”

The assertion came from a White House source speaking with The New York Post in Ankara, Turkey, during this week’s pivotal NATO summit. The delicate ceasefire negotiated between the U.S. and Iran last month has essentially collapsed after renewed military exchanges between the two countries that have put the Middle East at risk of full-scale conflict.

U.S. President Donald Trump said he authorized retaliatory strikes against Iran in response to Iranian assaults on commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. Tehran subsequently launched attacks on U.S. positions throughout the Middle East.

The characterization of Trump’s Iranian strikes as a “b—h slap” follows Trump’s previous description of May airstrikes he authorized against Iran for the same purported violation as a “love tap.”

The expression is “colloquial” among insiders, in contrast to the military’s formal designation, “Operation Epic Fury,” the source explained.

The source informed The Post that labeling the operation a “b—h slap” reflects Washington’s supposed strategy to strike Iran forcefully but temporarily, noting that the scope of Washington’s renewed military offensive will hinge on Tehran’s reaction.

The assertion mirrors Trump’s statement Wednesday that he remained uncertain whether the renewed hostilities would escalate into full-scale war. Nevertheless, if that occurred, he maintained the U.S. would “win it very quickly.”

“[Trump] still wants this thing to be over. But if Iran is shooting at ships, he’s not just gonna sit there and do nothing,” a source familiar with White House deliberations told The Post.

Another former White House official told the outlet, “Trump is not coordinating with anyone… he’s going with his gut.”

However, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office announced in a statement that Trump conversed with Netanyahu by phone Thursday, during which they agreed to maintain coordination with each other after Trump briefed Netanyahu on “American moves in the Gulf.”

Following the launch of the strikes, Trump indicated he believed the ceasefire with Iran was “over” and that the U.S. should “finish the job” after labeling the Islamic Republic’s leaders as “liars” and “scum,” among other disparaging terms.

He also threatened Wednesday to intensify strikes on Iranian infrastructure, reinstate a blockade and capture Kharg Island, a critical location for oil shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
