‘Tinubu should campaign on his scorecard, not past support for northern leaders’ – Tambuwal
A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Aminu Tambuwal, on Wednesday tackled President Bola Tinubu for claiming that he supported the late former President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015 and 2019, the National Security Adviser, NSA, Nuhu Ribadu in 2011, and the get together’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar in 2007 of their push for the presidency.
Tambuwal stated Tinubu ought to marketing campaign on the premise of his scorecard and never how he supported Northern leaders of their pursuit of the presidency up to now.
Speaking in the course of the ADC presidential marketing campaign flag-off in Sokoto State, Tambuwal insisted that Tinubu has failed to satisfy his marketing campaign guarantees to Nigerians.
He stated: “We have seen what APC has done to Nigeria. When Tinubu was campaigning, he said he would supply electricity, has he been able to do that? Has he done anything about insecurity in Nigeria? How about road and infrastructure? Nothing.
“What his marketing campaign workforce in Northern Nigeria are telling us is that Tinubu supported Atiku in 2007, he supported Nuhu Ribadu in 2011, Tinubu supported Buhari in 2015 and 2019, they aren’t campaigning on his scorecard.”
The former governor of Sokoto State also insisted that Nigeria has been retrogressing since Tinubu assumed office, stressing that there is hunger, poverty, and killings across the country.
He added: “He is a sitting president. What has he achieved, what has he achieved within the final three and a half years? Nigeria has been retrogressive, there’s quite a lot of starvation, poverty, and killings; so, it is not about supporting our personal leaders, its about delivering management for this nation and Tinubu and his workforce have failed woefully in offering management for Nigeria.”
The ADC chieftain further urged Nigerians to vote for Atiku and ensure that they protect their votes after casting their ballot.
“Therefore, they don’t have any enterprise by any means remaining in energy, come January 2027, we will come out en masse and vote for Atiku and all candidates of the ADC. And we are going to stay on the polling models till votes are counted and resulted declared,” he added.
