The First Show I Had Was N100,000, But My Company Lied To Me And Said It Was N40,000 -Baba Fryo

Veteran Nigerian singer Friday Igwe, popularly known as Baba Fryo, has alleged that his record company denied him earnings from his music despite the success of his career.

In an interview published by THE CABLE, Baba Fryo spoke about his experiences in the music industry and the financial difficulties he faced.

He said his first major performance was in Warri, where organizers paid N100,000. However, he claimed that his record company told him he was paid only N40,000.

Baba Fryo also disclosed that he later earned between N250,000 and N300,000 from performances sponsored by corporate organizations, describing the amounts as substantial at the time.

The singer further alleged that although he earned money from live performances, he received nothing from the sales of his music, accusing his record company of withholding his earnings.

“The first show I had was N100,000. But my company lied to me and said it was N40,000. N100,00 then, that was in Warri. That was my first major show. But after that, it depends on the promoters and the venue of the show…....
