The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has strengthened its upkeep capability within the Benin Sub-Region following the supply of vital spare gear and upkeep supplies to help the reliability of the nationwide transmission community.

The consignment, delivered by TCN’s Project Monitoring Unit (PMU), Abuja, on Monday, November 2, 2026, includes 330kV and 132kV tripping coils, fast stress relays, present transformer (CT) ratio clamps, gantry constructions and porcelain insulators.

In a press release signed by Management and dated November 4, 2026, the corporate stated the gear had been efficiently offloaded and secured within the sub-region’s retailer, prepared for deployment each time required.

TCN defined that the supply would improve the area’s capability to undertake routine and emergency upkeep actions promptly, thereby decreasing gear downtime and bettering the reliability of electrical energy transmission.

It added that the supply of the spare components would help extra environment friendly transmission of bulk electrical energy to the load centres of distribution corporations serviced by the Benin Sub-Region.

The intervention is predicted to strengthen operational effectivity and enhance the capability of the transmission community to reply to upkeep wants and equipment-related challenges.
