Police to strengthen CRU, boost media engagement, says new FPRO

The Nigeria Police Force has intensified efforts to be more responsive and transparent through a strengthened Complaint Response Unit (CRU).
The CRU is the Force’s chief digital platform for receiving, tracking and resolving citizen complaints.
The newly appointed Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), CSP Anietie Okokon Edem, spotlighted the CRU during a courtesy visit to the NUJ FCT council Sunday, and urged deeper media collaboration.
“Journalists are part of the police family,” he said, adding that informed reporting will help the public hold institutions to account while supporting constructive reform.
The NUJ FCT leadership, led by Comrade Grace Ike, welcomed the CRU enhancement and reaffirmed the council’s readiness to collaborate.
