Peter Obi Condemns Arrest of Professor Aghaji, Demands Respect for Rule of Law
According to a report by Daily Post on Saturday, July 11, 2026, former Anambra State Governor and Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has condemned the arrest of Professor Martin Aghaji, saying the incident raises serious concerns about respect for due process and the protection of citizens’ fundamental rights in Nigeria.
According to Obi, the operation was carried out at Aghaji’s residence in the Independent Layout area of Enugu, where security personnel reportedly arrived in the early hours of the day and arrested the medical professor in the presence of his daughter, who was visiting him at the time.
