Oyebanji Names New Govt Buildings After Fayemi, Fayose, Oni

Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has named newly constructed government buildings after three former governors, Ayodele Fayose, Segun Oni, and Kayode Fayemi in recognition of their contributions to the state’s development.

Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode, announced that two of the buildings, dedicated to Fayemi and Fayose, will be commissioned on July 31 and August 3, 2026, respectively.

The building named after Oni is nearing completion and will be inaugurated in October 2026.

This follows Oyebanji’s earlier gesture in October 2024, when he named the remodelled Presidential Lodge after Ekiti’s first civilian governor, Otunba Niyi Adebayo.The former governors will serve as special guests of honour at the commissioning ceremonies, personally inaugurating the projects.

According to Oyebode, the initiative reflects Oyebanji’s commitment to completing and delivering public projects under his administration’s Shared Prosperity Agenda as he rounds off his first term and prepares for a second.
