The Executive Chairman of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area (ONELGA), Sir Dr. Chukwu Shedrack Ogbogu, has announced the immediate disbandment of all local vigilante outfits operating within the local government area.

The directive, which took effect on Friday, July 10, 2026, exempts only the OSPAC and the Forest Guard, which the chairman said have been duly recognized by law and cleared by the local council as well as relevant government security agencies to operate within the area.

According to the chairman, the decision is aimed at strengthening security coordination and ensuring that only legally recognized security outfits carry out community safety operations across the local government.

Residents and members of the affected vigilante groups are expected to comply fully with the directive, while security agencies have been urged to enforce the order and maintain peace and public safety.

The council has advised the public to cooperate with the recognized security outfits and continue to support efforts aimed at safeguarding lives and property throughout Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area.
