Nigeria was on brink of financial collapse in 2023 – Emir Sanusi
Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, has mentioned that Nigeria was heading for financial collapse earlier than the administration of President Bola Tinubu.
Sanusi made this assertion on Tuesday on the Oxford Global Think Tank convention, the place he mentioned President Tinubu’s authorities must hear extra.
He mentioned President Tinubu shouldn’t all the time subject statements from the Villa each time folks complain of hardship.
“People need to understand that we were on the brink of economic collapse in 2023. It’s something I’ve been saying since I was Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Governor. It’s not every time people talk about poverty that you just issue a statement from the Villa and condemn them as enemies of the government or an attack on the President.
“I personally suppose that by way of pulling again from the brink, coping with inflation, we have been heading in the direction of hyperinflation,” he mentioned.
