Niger APC Sets 2 Million Vote Target for Tinubu, Launches 525-Member Campaign Council

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Niger State has unveiled an ambitious plan to deliver two million votes for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.
Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago announced the target on Monday in Minna during the inauguration of a 525-member Presidential and Gubernatorial Campaign Council.
The council includes political appointees, lawmakers, local government chairmen, and party stakeholders tasked with mobilising voters across the state.
“If everybody would bring their own votes, it would give us more than one million votes. But our target is beyond that. The ambition this time around is to bring out over two million votes, and by the grace of God, we will do that,” Bago said.
He urged members to intensify grassroots mobilisation and welcomed defectors returning from other parties.
The governor highlighted Tinubu’s economic policies, job creation, revenue growth, and infrastructure development as key campaign points, citing improvements in roads and security within Niger State.
The APC also plans to commission its North Central Presidential Campaign Office in Minna next week, with President Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President, Speaker of the House of Representatives, and APC National Chairman expected to attend.
Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris Malagi, called for unity among APC members, warning against divided loyalty.
He said the campaign would showcase Tinubu’s record in infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, and economic reforms.
Ambassador Ahmed Musa Ibeto was appointed Director-General of the campaign council, with APC leaders praising his political experience.
Ibeto pledged to coordinate activities through directorates, local governments, wards, and polling units, stressing discipline, unity, and compliance with electoral guidelines.
APC North Central chairman Mu’azu Bawa Rijau cautioned against underestimating opponents, noting the party’s goal to retain the governorship and secure Senate, House of Representatives, and State Assembly seats in Niger.
