Niger 2027: PDP candidate governorship Nami unveils 10-point agenda
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Niger state, Alhaji Mohammed Mamman Nami, has unveiled a 10-point development agenda for the state, if elected in 2027.
Nami listed his development agenda to include improved security, human capital development, employment, healthcare and better welfare for residents.
He disclosed this Friday in Minna during an expanded PDP stakeholder meeting, where he solicited their continued support and assured them that he would justify the confidence reposed in him and the party.
The candidate, who was accompanied by his running mate, Alhaji Dahiru Dan’azumi Abdul, also pledged to strengthen agriculture, education, water supply and pensioners’ welfare, while pursuing measures to address other challenges confronting the state.
Nami expressed concerns over the activities of bandits and the persistent incidents of kidnapping across the state, saying his administration would take decisive measures to improve security and protect the lives and property of residents.
He called on residents to remain calm and peaceful, urging them to exercise their democratic rights by using their permanent voter cards (PVCs) during the 2027 general elections.
Nami pledged not to betray the state, just as he did not betray the country while serving as the chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), following his appointment by the late President Muhammadu Buhari.
According to him, his administration will prioritise the 10-point agenda for the rapid growth of the state and improved welfare of its citizens.
The PDP governorship candidate decried the recent deaths of no fewer than 37 miners in the state, and called for stronger security measures and greater protection of the lives and property of residents.
He urged party members and stakeholders to remain united and committed to the PDP, assuring them that the confidence reposed in the PDP leadership would be justified through purposeful and people-oriented governance.
