Fifty-six year-old Andy Burnham was Monday named the new Prime Minister of the United Kingdom (UK), with a pledge to turn things around.
Making an inaugural speech, the new PM promised to embark on a new 10-year plan for Britain.
Burnham also assured that a new economic life essentials would be put back to strong public control to make things affordable to the citizens.
He described moments as a circuit breaker for Britain, saying it would bring forward the biggest changes in the last 40 years, a new political and economic model and measures that will help more young people to work by changing the educational system and giving them more support.
“Britain needs to show the world that they can regain their stability once again and make things work better.
“In the 1980s, Britain took some wrong turns such that the political power was centralised, economic power privatised, large part of the country de-industrialised and still haven’t recovered from it,” the PM said.
Burnham thereafter encouraged the citizens to put in work with him to build a sense of national unity and international relations.
