Netanyahu's Iran war proposal to Trump exposes who is really in control

Americans are beginning to question President Trump’s true intentions with his war in Iran.

Following an interview with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, many are questioning who is really calling the shots.

“I went to see Trump right after the election, and I came there with seven big slides,” Netanyahu said in the interview. “Slide one, slide two, slide three, slide four — here’s what we’re going to do.”

He went on, “Not ‘are you allowing us or not allowing us’ — here’s what we’re going to do. I told him. And we get to the last slide, and I say: here’s what I’m proposing to you.”

He then said, “You have B-2s — these huge bombers. There’s a site called Fordow. If we need to, we’ll act against it ourselves, too. But it’s much more effective if you come and simply drop your heavy bombs there.”

Netanyahu explained, “He listened, and in the end he joined. And I was very glad.”

One user summarized the statement, saying simply, “Netanyahu is essentially bragging about how he controls and manipulates Trump here.”

Another wrote, “If accurate, that suggests a highly coordinated and assertive approach, but decisions about military action of that scale raise serious questions about oversight, escalation risks, and who ultimately sets the strategy.”

According to the Council on Foreign Relations, the United States provides approximately $3.8 billion in annual military assistance to Israel, comprising $3.3 billion in foreign military financing and $500 million for missile defense. While this is the baseline, recent conflicts have increased this amount; at least $12.5 billion in military aid was approved following October 7, 2023.

Trump has appeared to become increasingly frustrated by Netanyahu’s violent choices. The Israeli Prime Minister’s decision to allow his military forces to operate without restraint in Lebanon, specifically targeting the capital city of Beirut, remains a significant point of contention.

“Israel is fighting Hezbollah for too long, and too many people are being killed,” Trump said on the world stage at the G7 Summit. “They should have been able to do the job faster.”

Trump went on, “You don’t have to knock down an apartment house every time you’re looking for somebody. There are a lot of people in those apartment houses, and they’re not all Hezbollah.”​
