NDA alerts Kaduna residents ahead of cadets’ obstacle exercise
The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) has alerted the general public, especially residents of Kaduna, that it will conduct an inter-company obstacle crossing competition for Short Service Cadets on Saturday at its Afaka facility.
In a statement issued on Friday by its Public Relations Officer, Maj. Reuben Kovangiya, explained that the exercise, which is part of the Academy’s routine training activities, will take place between 6 am and 11 pm He added that the day and night exercise is designed to test the cadets’ ability to negotiate obstacles in combat situations. According to him, the exercise will involve the use of explosive blasts, and residents are advised not to panic.
He added that the exercise will be conducted within the NDA Afaka area, urging residents of Mando, Tsamiya, Kauya and Afaka to be aware of the activity. He assured the public that all necessary safety measures have been put in place to ensure a hitch-free exercise.
He also solicited the cooperation of members of the public and the media in disseminating the information.
