The Director of Public Relations and Information, Headquarters Nigerian Air Force, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, disclosed this in a statement issued on Saturday.
According to Ejodame, the airstrikes were carried out on July 10 after credible intelligence revealed renewed terrorist activities and the concentration of fighters in the area.
He said intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) missions confirmed the presence of terrorist structures and logistics hubs before the targets were engaged.
“The precision strikes destroyed the identified terrorist infrastructure and neutralised several insurgents,” the statement said.
Ejodame noted that the operation was part of ongoing efforts to degrade the operational capabilities of terrorist groups, deny them freedom of movement and prevent them from regrouping.
He said the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, commended the personnel involved in the operation for their professionalism and reaffirmed the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to sustaining offensive operations against terrorist groups.
