Filmmaker Niyi Akinmolayan revealed how the death of his mother in 2012 fundamentally transformed his approach to life and filmmaking. He explained that losing the most important person in his life removed all fear and made him question everything he had believed in.

Niyi Akinmolayan is a renowned Nigerian filmmaker and the founder of Anthill Studios, known for groundbreaking films like The Arbitration, Prophetess, and Elevator Baby. He has become one of Nollywood’s most innovative directors, pushing boundaries with complex storytelling and technical excellence.

Akinmolayan said: “The final nail in the coffin for me was losing my parents. People don’t know how much that changed who I was. I lost my mom in 2012.
