Legendary music brothers James and Chico DeBarge arrested for allegedly possessing fentanyl and meth

Music brothers James and Chico DeBarge have been arrested in Los Angeles after police allegedly found suspected fentanyl and methamphetamine in their possession.

The siblings were arrested on the night of August 27 in Burbank, California, after police reportedly pulled them over for traffic violations.

According to law enforcement sources, James was driving a Chevrolet Tahoe that was towing a Nissan SUV, where Chico was sitting. The vehicles allegedly had no license plates, while the brothers were reportedly not wearing seatbelts.

Police said they found what they suspected to be fentanyl and methamphetamine during the traffic stop.

Both brothers were arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance. Police also said Chico had an outstanding warrant.

However, Chico’s management team has denied that the singer was involved with drugs, saying the warrant was related to a “non-drug-related civil matter.”

“Chico DeBarge does not use drugs and has maintained a clean and healthy lifestyle for quite some time,” his management said in a statement.

James and Chico are members of the famous DeBarge musical family and were popular during the 1980s and 1990s.

Chico has previously spoken publicly about his struggles with drug addiction and served time on narcotics-related charges.
