A legal practitioner, Ositer Okoro, has congratulated the governor of Enugu state, Dr. Peter Mbah, on his conferment with an honorary Doctor of Laws degree (honoris causa) by his alma mater, the University of East London (UEL).

In a congratulatory message he personally signed and made available to journalists, Okoro described the honour as well deserved, saying it represents a recognition of Governor Mbah’s contributions to leadership, public service, enterprise and human capital development.

The legal practitioner said the governor had distinguished himself through a remarkable journey from academic and student leadership excellence to a successful career as an entrepreneur, maritime lawyer and public servant.

He said the honorary doctorate is not only a personal achievement for Governor Mbah but also  recognition of the values of hard work, intellectual development, innovation and service to humanity which the governor has continued to demonstrate throughout his career.

Okoro noted that Governor Mbah’s academic background and professional experience have continued to influence his approach to governance, particularly in areas such as education, economic development, infrastructure and institutional reform.

He further commended the governor for placing education and human capital development among the priorities of his administration, stressing that investment in knowledge and skills remains critical to the sustainable development of Enugu State and Nigeria at large.

Okoro also applauded Governor Mbah’s entrepreneurial background, saying his experience in the private sector has brought a different perspective to public administration and strengthened his focus on economic growth, investment and job creation.

He expressed confidence that the governor would continue to receive more national and international recognition for his contributions to society.
