The Police Special Fraud Unit (PSFU), Ikoyi, Lagos, has received an additional operational vehicle from a stakeholder in a move aimed at strengthening the unit’s fight against economic and financial crimes across the country.
This was contained in a statement Wednesday by the Police Public Relations Officer of the Unit, DSP Ovie Kenneth Ewhubare, who said the vehicle was officially unveiled Monday by the Commissioner of Police, Police Special Fraud Unit, CP Eloho Edwin Okpoziakpo, who described the donation as a strong vote of confidence in the unit’s activities and a demonstration of the growing partnership between the Nigeria Police Force and public-spirited individuals in combating fraud.
The commissioner said the additional operational vehicle will improve the unit’s logistics, enhance the mobility of detectives and boost intelligence-led investigations into fraud, money laundering and other financial crimes.
He noted that the donation aligns with the vision of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, to strengthen policing through improved logistics, stakeholder collaboration and efficient service delivery.
CP Okpoziakpo stated that tackling financial crimes requires collective efforts, urging corporate organisations, development partners and other well-meaning Nigerians to continue supporting the police with operational resources and credible intelligence to counter increasingly sophisticated criminal activities.
