“Gbosa For Aiyedatiwa,” Oka Monarch, Prominent indigene Laud Gov For Emergency Fix On Abuja-Lagos Link Road

Relief and gratitude filled Oka Kingdom on Monday as His Royal Majesty, Oba Yusuf Adebori Adeleye, OON, Olubaka of Oka, led prominent indigenes to commend Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for ordering an immediate intervention on the collapsing Iwaro–Oka Road.

The road, a critical Abuja-Lagos link route in Akoko South West Local Government Area, had been threatened by a massive gully erosion that residents feared would cut the community into two.

Speaking to NOP NIGERIA, the monarch described the governor’s swift action as a demonstration of responsive leadership.
“KUDOS TO HIS EXCELLENCY DR LUCKY ORIMISAN AIYEDATIWA FOR PROMPTLY ATTENDING TO OUR REQUEST,” Oba Adeleye said.

The intervention began less than 24 hours after _NOP NIGERIA_ exposed the dangerous state of the road in a report on Sunday evening, prompting the governor to direct the Commissioner for Infrastructure, Engr. Abiola Olawoye, to the site.

Engr. Olawoye carried out an on-the-spot assessment and immediately mobilized equipment for remedial works to stabilize the failing section and restore safe passage for commuters.

Also speaking, legal luminary and prominent indigene of Oka, Barrister Jide Ologun, who first brought the matter to _NOP NIGERIA’s_ attention, expressed pride in the government’s response.

“I am very proud of the commendable response from the Executive government and relevant stakeholders,” Barrister Ologun said, noting that the road serves thousands of residents and traders daily.

Community leaders said the road is not just a local route but a strategic artery for the movement of goods, students, and emergency services across northern Ondo and into neighboring states.

Youth groups and market associations in Oka also joined in the commendation, saying the quick fix has restored hope and prevented what could have become a humanitarian and economic crisis.

With work already underway, the Olubaka and other stakeholders urged the state government to follow up with a permanent rehabilitation of the entire Iwaro–Oka axis to safeguard the road during future rainy seasons.
