Kogi Police Probe Officer’s Shooting of Colleague, Self

The Kogi State Police Command has opened an investigation into the deaths of two officers hooked up to the Ajaokuta Division, Amos Yusuf and Grace Onimisi.

According to experiences, Yusuf allegedly shot his feminine colleague, Onimisi, throughout evening obligation earlier than turning the weapon on himself. Both have been rushed to separate hospitals, the place they have been confirmed lifeless.

Police spokesperson, Saliu Oyiza Afusat, confirmed the incident in an announcement on Sunday, noting that an AK-47 rifle and 4 expended cartridges have been recovered on the scene.

She added that the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for additional inquiry.

While hypothesis suggests the officers could have been romantically concerned and had a disagreement, the command cautioned towards drawing conclusions.

“The circumstances and motive remain subjects of investigation, and the Command will not speculate on matters yet to be established,” Afusat mentioned.

The stays of each officers have been deposited at ASCO Hospital mortuary as investigations proceed.
