The pupils and teachers abducted in Orire Local Government Area of Oyo State have regained their freedom after days in captivity.
The development was confirmed on Friday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr Bayo Onanuga, in a post on his verified X account.

Announcing the release, Onanuga said the victims had been freed by their abductors, bringing relief to their families and residents who had anxiously awaited positive news since the incident occurred.
Although the release has been confirmed, government authorities have not provided details on the circumstances surrounding their freedom.
It remains unclear whether security operatives secured their release, negotiations were held, or any ransom was paid.
