Kaduna: Jaba LGA organises security summit

To ensure lasting peace and peaceful co-existence among the people of Jaba local government area of Kaduna state, the council has organised a peace and security summit, with the theme: “Bridging the Divide: Uniting Farmers, Herders and Youth for a Prosperous Community.”

Speaking at the summit which took place at Rakiya Event Centre, Kwoi, the Kaduna state governor, Senator Uba Sani, commended the chairman of Jaba local government area, Mrs. Larai Sylvia Ishaku, for organising the event.

Represented by his special adviser on peace and conflict resolution, Alhaji Danlami Adamu, the governor stated that the basis for every peace is humanity, while urging everyone to be human first, before developing an identity of tribe or religion.

The governor admonished the people to respect one another through justification of fairness geared towards actualisation of peace in all nooks and crannies of the communities.

He reiterated the commitment of his government in securing the state to pave way for lasting peace and meaningful development.

In his remarks, a member of House of Assembly, representing  Jaba Constituency, Hon Henry Marah advised participants to avoid taking the law into their hands, but report every wrong doing to the appropriate authorities.

Marah observed that the summit does not mean that communities would not face security challenges in the future, owing to the fact that some reasons that lead to unfortunate crises emanate from accidental and unavoidable incidents.

He urged all and sundry to handle matters that might arise with care and wisdom to avoid crises among herders, farmers and youth.
