Jigawa PDP Names 45-Member Campaign Council for 2027 Governorship Race
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Jigawa State has unveiled a 45-member campaign council to spearhead mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 governorship election, with its candidate Mustapha Lamido appointed as chairman.
In a statement issued in Dutse on Friday night, Lamido said the council would coordinate activities across the state’s 27 local government areas, ensuring broad grassroots engagement.
“I am pleased to announce the composition of the Jigawa State PDP 2027 Campaign Council to lead our mobilisation and engagement across the 27 local government areas,” Lamido stated.
Key Appointments
Inuwa Tahir – Deputy Chairman
Senator Mustapha Khabeeb – Vice Chairman I (Jigawa Central)
Ambassador Ibrahim Kazaure – Vice Chairman II (North-West)
Yusuf Dunari – Vice Chairman III (North-East)
Other notable members include former Inspector-General of Police Suleiman Abba, Dr Nuraddeen Mohammed, former deputy governorship candidate Babandi Gumel, Dr Aminu Taura, and Professor Mustapha Jarumi.

The PDP candidate had earlier been affirmed as the party’s flagbearer in May after emerging as the sole aspirant for the governorship ticket.
