Iran's Supreme Leader pledges revenge in menacing statement amid threat on Trump's life
Iran on Saturday pledged to avenge the killing of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, threatening that there are people around the globe willing to carry out revenge.
The statement was Mojtaba Khamenei’s first since the funeral of his father, where large crowds in Tehran reportedly chanted for revenge and the death of U.S. President Donald Trump.
It also follows warnings by Trump that “1000 missiles” are “locked, loaded and aimed” at Iran should they follow through with alleged plots to assassinate him.
The president issued the threat Friday evening on Truth Social shortly after Trump revealed that he was informed that Israel had obtained intelligence about an alleged assassination plot against him, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Iran’s statement claimed that there are people around the world who are willing to carry out the country’s revenge.
