IN HARD TIMES, FIREFLY CHOOSES HEART: Firm Takes Kindness Drive To Lagos Orphanage
It was a Saturday of smiles at The Lord’s Heritage Orphanage in Lagos.
On October 3, 2026, the children received unusual visitors, the team from Firefly Innovations, who came not to sell, but to share.
The visit marked the first edition of the Firefly Kindness Drive, an initiative launched by the Nigerian agro-food and FMCG company to institutionalize giving back.
For a business operating in Nigeria’s tough climate, it was a bold statement.
Logistics costs are rising. Operating environment is difficult. Many companies are cutting costs. Firefly chose to give.
“Sometimes, all it takes is choosing to do what is right,” the company said in a statement released on October 4.
The team spent hours with the children, sharing moments, laughter, and Firefly products, alongside a community contribution to support the orphanage.
It was more than a donation run, the company stressed.
For the staff who went, it became a moment of reflection on what business should truly mean.

“It reminded us of the kind of impact we want Firefly to leave behind,” the company said.
“We came with what we had, but we left with much more than we brought. The smiles, the warmth and the experience reminded us that even in difficult times, there is always an opportunity to make someone’s day a little brighter.”
Firefly Innovations said the Kindness Drive is not a one-off CSR stunt, but part of a broader commitment to community impact.
The company, which operates across agro-food production, FMCG, agro-investment and agro-real estate, said it wants to build a business that measures success not only by profit, but by impact.
It also paid tribute to those who made the first edition possible, its staff and team members, investors, and particularly its customers.
According to the firm, their purchases, investments, contributions and continued support helped turn the idea into reality.
And the journey is just starting. Firefly has confirmed that Firefly Kindness Drive 2.0 is already being planned.
“And this is only the beginning,” the company declared, as it hopes to build a sustained culture of giving that grows alongside the business.
