Horror as woman, 23, killed after man falls on her from 12th floor – he survives
A 23-year-old woman has died after a man fell from the 12th floor of a building and landed on top of her as she walked along a street in Japan. Houra Inaba was in the city of Nagoya with a friendat around 1am on July 19 when the horror unfolded.
The man, identified as 29-year-old Shinsei Taguchi, plunged from the building and struck Ms Inaba below. Both were rushed to hospital, but despite doctors’ efforts, Ms Inaba died a few hours later.
Mr Taguchi survived the fall but remains unconscious and in a critical condition.
The tragedy happened near Yabamachi Station on the Nagoya Municipal Subway Meijo Line in Nagoya’s busy Sakae district.
The area is famous for its shops, entertainment venues and busy streets, with high-rise buildings and offices attracting large numbers of people throughout the day and into the evening.
Japan Today reported that police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and have not yet established whether the fall was accidental or deliberate.
The area was cordoned off while forensic officers gathered evidence from the scene.
