Horror as pensioner ‘raped and robbed by Moroccan teen’ while walking home

A pensioner was allegedly raped and robbed by a Moroccan teenager as she was walking home. A boy, 16, was arrested on Tuesday (July 21) in connection with the reported attack.

Police said the woman, 80, was approached by the alleged attacker on a scooter while returning from an evening out with her daughter. He then insisted to take her home but she refused his request. However, the boy then reportedly followed her home before attacking the woman and pinning her against the wall. The victim was then allegedly raped before the suspect fled the scene with a piece of gold jewellery.

He added: “He was brought before the Rennes judicial court today. I opened a judicial investigation, and the investigating judge charged the accused with rape of a vulnerable person and theft of a vulnerable person.

“At the request of the public prosecutor’s office, he was placed in pre-trial detention by the judge of freedoms and detention.”

Local media also reported that the suspect was previously arrested in May. Mr Teillet said he was arrested “for a drug offence for which the prosecutor’s office issued him a summons to appear before a juvenile judge in October.”
