The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, has announced plans by the ruling party to profile and harmonise all President Bola Ahmed Tinubu support groups nationwide ahead of the 2027 general elections to ensure proper campaign coordination and avoid duplication of efforts.

Represented by his Special Adviser Alhaji Yusuf Dingyadi, he stated this during a townhall meeting in Kano.

Yilwatda said the party had observed the proliferation of hundreds of support groups bearing the President’s name, many of which operate independently without synergy with the official party structure.

“We cannot approach 2027 with fragmented structures. Mr. President deserves a well-coordinated, message-disciplined campaign. That is why the APC, through the Support Groups Council, is set to profile all Tinubu support groups across Nigeria,” he stated.

According to him, the profiling exercise will involve verification of membership, leadership structure, areas of operation, and capacity of each group. Only groups that meet the party’s criteria will be recognized and issued official identity cards.

He further explained that a technical committee has been set up to create a central database for all Tinubu support groups in the 36 states and the FCT. The database will be used to track activities, training, and resource allocation ahead of the elections.

He said the goal is to prevent a repeat of the 2023 experience where some groups worked at cross purposes and sometimes sent conflicting messages to the public. “We need unity of purpose and one voice for the Renewed Hope Agenda,” he added.

He promised that members of the Zinariya Tinubu Support Group will play a critical role in voter mobilization, sensitization, and protection of votes in Kano State and the North West zone.

The Coordinator of Zinariya Tinubu Support Group, Hajiya Fatima Gamawa, welcomed the initiative and pledged the group’s loyalty to the party and the President saying that proper coordination will make the campaign more effective and prevent waste of resources.
