The President of the MAAUN Group of Universities, Professor Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, has expressed his condolences to the government and people of Jigawa state over the death of the Emir of Gumel, Alhaji Dr. Ahmad Muhammad Sani II.

In a statement he personally signed and issued to newsmen, Professor Gwarzo described the late Emir as a widely loved and respected traditional ruler who enjoyed the loyalty and affection of his people throughout his 46-year reign.

“A leader who is loved this way by his people after more than 46 years on the throne says a lot about his good leadership, commitment and service to the people. This is worthy of emulation by all traditional rulers and those entrusted with positions of authority.

“On behalf of myself and the entire MAAUN community, I extend my heartfelt condolences to the government and good people of Jigawa State, particularly the people of the Gumel Emirate, over the passing of the revered Emir.

“His death has created a huge vacuum that cannot be filled easily. May Allah SWT forgive his shortcomings, grant him eternal rest and admit him into Aljannatul Firdaus.”

He prayed for Allah to grant the family, the Gumel Emirate and the people of Jigawa State the fortitude to bear the loss.
