Gunmen K!ll Police Inspector, Seven Others in Adamawa
Gunmen suspected to be Boko Haram insurgents have k!lled eight people, including a police inspector, in Gaya-Dlang near Fa’agaya, Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
The attackers struck on Monday evening, August 17, 2026, burning houses, looting food supplies, and abducting four girls during the raid.Hong LGA has suffered repeated assaults in recent months.
Just last month, a similar attack on Zah community in Yadul District left four people dead, including a forest guard, and saw a woman abducted.
Confirming the latest incident, Hong LGA chairman, Dr. Aliyu Yerima Hong, said eight lives were lost, with several others injured. He lamented that fear has forced many farmers to abandon their fields.
“There is serious fear because 80 per cent of our peasant farmers who are farming in that area have abandoned their farms,” he said, while pledging continued support for the military, security agencies, hunters, and vigilantes working to protect the area.
